sip

i've changed. it came on so gradually i hardly noticed, but now that i've realized it i see that it was bound to happen.

i prefer tea to coffee.

they say that familiarity breeds contempt. not that i don't like coffee any more. i still love a good strong americano or cappuccino. but my nearly four years as a barista for starbucks must've finally caught up with me. i now start each day with a cup of tea, usually irish breakfast. a little milk and a twinge of sweet and i'm cozy in my mug.

maybe it's the low-maintenance factor. maybe it's the fact that i don't get a headache if i don't have it. maybe it's that it's not so hard on my tummy. maybe it's all of the above and more. whatever it is i think it's here to stay.

you can't beat a good cup of black tea made just right with some milk and sugar. java just doesn't do it compared to that.

Yeeeeeeaaaaah!

You know it makes sense. I'll have you drinking Assam Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe from Fortnum and Masons in no time at all. With milk though.

If you're gonna go the black tea route I'd recommend a nice darjeeling.

Tea rocks :-)#

spoken like a true englishman. i have some american tea perversions that would deeply offend i'm sure. like earl grey with vanilla cream. you'll just have to believe that is super yummy.

Oh yes, I do think the slow transformation is in preparation for your move at the end of the year. It will be interesting to see what else changes over the coming months. Hmm...will you begin speaking with a Scottish accent even before you leave? Just don't try to tell me about a Naval (or was that Nevell, or perhaps Navel, or something like that) Base, you might need to spell it out. :-) renee
