snow
We had a rather unusual bout of snow and ice right before Christmas. It's been years since we've had that kind of weather last for over two weeks. We had over two feet in the back yard. It's a crying shame that it was the first white Christmas on record, but by then everyone was so sick of being stuck in their houses that most people just wanted it to go away.
We thought it was over, but this morning we woke up to an inch of snow. Most of it has melted, but we've also had crazy torrential rain and lots of flooding and mudslides. It's always the big, expensive houses that get nailed because they are built on the many hillsides and slopes that fringe the valley.
Remember the good ol' days when it just rained around here?
