frustration

i sit here helplessly and watch you chose
the things i know will bring you greatest pain
i've done all i can to let you know
my love for you is here
my shoulder is yours to lean on
but somehow you decide it's not enough
so you chose to put your feelings first
you are not helpless to make the better choice
but you don't want to
and you do what you want

so here we are again picking up the pieces
of something broken and fixed not long ago
you know better but you choose consequences
hurting not just yourself but those who love you
and now you come painfully to the same conclusion
my heart aches knowing yours does too
but please don't ignore the truth
don't look in the mirror
